A maior parte das \u00e1reas desmatadas tem se tornado pastagens: 63%, de acordo com os dados de 2014 do projeto <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ainfo.cnptia.embrapa.br\/digital\/bitstream\/item\/152807\/1\/TerraClass.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TerraClass<\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, uma parceria entre a Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecu\u00e1ria (Embrapa) e o Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE). M. Rodrigues<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, professor da Universidade da Calif\u00f3rnia (UC Davis), e colaboradores, no estado de Rond\u00f4nia,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0mostrou que as comunidades bacterianas do solo se tornaram mais homog\u00eaneas (isto \u00e9, mais similares ao longo do espa\u00e7o) em resposta \u00e0 convers\u00e3o floresta-pastagem. Essas mesmas amostras foram analisadas por Fabiana Paula e colaboradores, atualmente p\u00f3s-doutoranda da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo, atrav\u00e9s da t\u00e9cnica de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/ismej20072\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>GeoChip<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, capaz de analisar milhares de genes microbianos de interesse simultaneamente. Seus resultados mostraram que os potenciais processos desempenhados pelos microrganismos no ambiente tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o impactados pela mudan\u00e7a de uso do solo.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-41c45c21 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"41c45c21\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dd2f9ea elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dd2f9ea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O metano (CH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) \u00e9 o segundo g\u00e1s mais importante de efeito estufa. O CH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tem um potencial de aquecimento global \u2013 em um per\u00edodo de 100 anos \u2013 28 vezes maior que o di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), e sua abund\u00e2ncia na atmosfera tem aumentado rapidamente desde 2007, tornando-se um motivo de grande preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o para a comunidade cient\u00edfica. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O ciclo do metano no solo \u00e9 controlado por dois grupos de microrganismos: organismos produtores desse g\u00e1s (metanog\u00eanicos) e consumidores (metanotr\u00f3ficos) (em sua maioria, arqu\u00e9ias e bact\u00e9rias, respectivamente). As pesquisas <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">das quais <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">participei, como o trabalho de <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0160412020320869\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meyer e colaboradores<\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e o artigo resultante do meu projeto de pesquisa, <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S0013935122004662\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venturini e colaboradores<\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, demonstraram que a transforma\u00e7\u00e3o de florestas para pastagens (em Rond\u00f4nia e no Par\u00e1) tem alterado a abund\u00e2ncia e a diversidade desses organismos do ciclo do metano. Dessa forma, com a convers\u00e3o, \u00e1reas que costumam ser sumidouros de metano podem passar a emitir esse g\u00e1s, especialmente sob determinadas condi\u00e7\u00f5es ambientais, como elevada umidade.<\/span><\/p><p><b>E o futuro das pesquisas com microrganismos do solo?\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p>Uma das coisas mais fascinantes da microbiologia \u00e9 que \u00e9 uma \u00e1rea de estudo em constante evolu\u00e7\u00e3o. Gra\u00e7as \u00e0s t\u00e9cnicas modernas de sequenciamento de DNA e de an\u00e1lise de dados, podemos estudar os milhares de microrganismos presentes em uma amostra de solo, incluindo organismos que ainda n\u00e3o podem ser cultivados em laborat\u00f3rio. Esses m\u00e9todos nos ajudam a compreender as comunidades microbianas dos solos da Amaz\u00f4nia, podendo revelar os organismos presentes e suas potenciais fun\u00e7\u00f5es no ambiente. Atualmente, atrav\u00e9s das ferramentas da <span style=\"text-decoration-line: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufsm.br\/pet\/sistemas-de-informacao\/2020\/12\/03\/o-que-e-a-bioinformatica\/\">bioinform\u00e1tica<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, podemos at\u00e9 recuperar genomas quase completos de organismos at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o desconhecidos por n\u00f3s, tema de <strong><span style=\"text-decoration-line: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microbiologyresearch.org\/content\/journal\/mgen\/10.1099\/mgen.0.000853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pesquisa do meu p\u00f3s-doutorado<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.
