Ao estudar a biodiversidade, os pesquisadores frequentemente buscam por similaridades que podem ser entendidas como <\/span><b>padr\u00f5es<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Como por exemplo, temos diferentes esp\u00e9cies de animais ou plantas que n\u00e3o ocorrem al\u00e9m de determinada cadeia de montanhas (isto \u00e9, n\u00e3o s\u00e3o encontrados al\u00e9m desse <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Acidente_geogr%C3%A1fico\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">acidente geogr\u00e1fico<\/span><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), ou uma pigmenta\u00e7\u00e3o nas penas de uma esp\u00e9cie de ave que s\u00f3 \u00e9 encontrada em uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o isolada. Com a identifica\u00e7\u00e3o desses padr\u00f5es, que s\u00e3o baseados na concord\u00e2ncia de diferentes esp\u00e9cies, os cientistas procuram por <\/span><b>processos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que poderiam ter originado e mantido esse padr\u00e3o de diversidade ao longo do tempo. \u00c9 comum os cientistas indicarem a exist\u00eancia de um processo \u00fanico ou generaliz\u00e1vel para explicar os padr\u00f5es de diversidade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Um exemplo de generaliza\u00e7\u00e3o para o estudo da biodiversidade amaz\u00f4nica s\u00e3o aquelas relacionadas \u00e0 <\/span><b>conectividade funcional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de uma esp\u00e9cie, dependendo do tipo de floresta que ela habita. Este \u00e9 um termo da <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ecologia_da_paisagem\"><b>Ecologia da Paisagem<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> usado para nomear os efeitos da <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paisagem\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">paisagem<\/span><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> na dispers\u00e3o (isto \u00e9, movimentos) dos organismos, j\u00e1 que as paisagens podem criar resist\u00eancia ou facilitar os movimentos dos organismos afetando consequentemente o <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fluxo_g%C3%AAnico\"><b>fluxo g\u00eanico<\/b><\/a><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(leia mais &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/conexoesamazonicas.org\/a-ecologia-e-a-evolucao-de-um-roedor-podem-revelar-mudancas-passadas-na-amazonia\/\">neste texto<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span>&#8220;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> divulgado no Blog do Conex\u00f5es Amaz\u00f4nicas). <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Na Amaz\u00f4nia Ocidental, dois tipos de h\u00e1bitats florestais s\u00e3o comuns: florestas de <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Floresta_de_terra_firme\"><b>terra firme<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e florestas de <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Floresta_de_v%C3%A1rzea\"><b>v\u00e1rzea<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (veja na figura abaixo). De maneira simplificada, as florestas de terra firme est\u00e3o acima do n\u00edvel m\u00e1ximo de inunda\u00e7\u00e3o dos rios, e as florestas de v\u00e1rzeas s\u00e3o \u00e1reas que ficam inundadas por v\u00e1rios meses durante o ano e ocorrem ao longo dos principais rios da regi\u00e3o. Por essas caracter\u00edsticas, cientistas t\u00eam sugerido que os organismos que habitam a terra firme experimentam maior estabilidade e, portanto, maior diversidade gen\u00e9tica, quando comparados aos habitantes de v\u00e1rzea, que passam por mais <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Efeito_de_gargalo\"><b>efeitos gargalos<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e expans\u00f5es populacionais<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">devido \u00e0s inunda\u00e7\u00f5es. Al\u00e9m disso, \u00e9 sugerido que as florestas de v\u00e1rzeas funcionem como corredores ao longo dos rios, aumentando o fluxo g\u00eanico em popula\u00e7\u00f5es distantes. No entanto, at\u00e9 que ponto essa hip\u00f3tese pode ser generalizada? Para responder a essa pergunta, o nosso estudo utilizou como modelos duas esp\u00e9cies de ratos-de-espinho do g\u00eanero <i>Proechimys <\/i>(veja na figura abaixo). Nesse estudo, n\u00f3s utilizamos dados <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jornal.usp.br\/ciencias\/genomica-a-ciencia-que-rompe-fronteiras-e-desafia-os-cientistas\/\"><strong>gen\u00f4micos<\/strong><\/a><\/span> de duas esp\u00e9cies de roedores\u00a0 do g\u00eanero <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proechimys<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, uma esp\u00e9cie t\u00edpica de ambiente de florestas de terra-firme (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P. simonsi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) e outra de florestas de v\u00e1rzea (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P. steerei<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Al\u00e9m de verificar se os \u00edndices de diversidade e estrutura\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica eram condizentes com a generaliza\u00e7\u00e3o, n\u00f3s tamb\u00e9m testamos como a paisagem poderia explicar a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ecologia.ib.usp.br\/lepac\/bie5770_2012\/aula_4_Conectividade%20funcional%20e%20estrutura_2012.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conectividade funcional<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (isto \u00e9, a capacidade de dispers\u00e3o e movimento) entre os indiv\u00edduos dessas esp\u00e9cies, por meio da t\u00e9cnica de isolamento por resist\u00eancia. Para fazer isso, n\u00f3s calculamos o quanto de varia\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica era compartilhada entre os indiv\u00edduos de uma mesma esp\u00e9cie de roedor, e calculamos tamb\u00e9m o qu\u00e3o custoso era para esses indiv\u00edduos se locomoverem na paisagem, levando em conta a resist\u00eancia do tipo de h\u00e1bitat que ligava esses indiv\u00edduos. Com esses valores, n\u00f3s testamos se a similaridade gen\u00e9tica era melhor explicada pela dist\u00e2ncia geogr\u00e1fica (medida em quil\u00f4metros em linha reta), pelo tipo de h\u00e1bitat ligando esses indiv\u00edduos ou por outros fatores (leia mais <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1111\/j.0014-3820.2006.tb00500.x\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>aqui<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nossos resultados n\u00e3o corroboraram a hip\u00f3tese de que o ambiente de v\u00e1rzea favorece uma maior conectividade entre as popula\u00e7\u00f5es de roedores quando comparado com o ambiente de terra firme. Especificamente, indiv\u00edduos de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P. steerei<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> nas florestas de v\u00e1rzea mostraram uma estrutura gen\u00e9tica mais forte e maior diversidade do que <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P. simonsi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> das florestas de terra firme (veja na figura abaixo). Isso traz uma import\u00e2ncia crucial para a conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Amaz\u00f4nia. A biologia da conserva\u00e7\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m visa a preservar os processos que geram e que mant\u00e9m a diversidade, como as rotas de dispers\u00e3o e de fluxo g\u00eanico. Nessa perspectiva, nossos resultados mostraram que a hist\u00f3ria evolutiva das \u00e1reas alagadas n\u00e3o \u00e9 simples, e que simplific\u00e1-la baseado em generaliza\u00e7\u00f5es pode subestimar a diversidade gen\u00e9tica de esp\u00e9cies que habitam essas \u00e1reas e, consequentemente, subestimar a import\u00e2ncia e riqueza dessas \u00e1reas para a conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e equil\u00edbrio ambiental.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4c11097 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4c11097\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Amaz\u00f4nia \u00e9 bem conhecida por sua incr\u00edvel riqueza de esp\u00e9cies, mas n\u00e3o sabemos at\u00e9 que ponto os processos de diversifica\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies seguem rotas semelhantes ou n\u00e3o.
